Swami Ramdevji visits Amritsar Prison

Swami Ramdevji visited Amritsar Prison on 17.11.2006. He was received by Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, an IPS officer looking after this Prison. Swamiji first took a round of the Prison area and then interacted with the prisoners. He was overwhelmed to see the respect of human values and dignity of mankind in this Prison. He was impressed with the education system being launched in the Prison with the help of educated prisoners. He also appreciated the functioning of Legal Aid Cell managed by the prisoners which has contributed in releasing more than 400 poor prisoners.

Swamiji later on conducted a Yoga session in the Prison premises. He taught various lessons on Yogasan, Pranayam, Kapalbhati and behavioural aspects of human life. He advised the inmates and officers to practice Yoga regularly.

It is pertinent to mention here that Amritsar Prison has launched yoga project to improve the physical and spiritual state of pris

Dear Vijay,
Such initiative require courage and wisdom.

I rememeber the poem of Serenity Prayer of LBSNAA days after reading and going thru the website.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
